The vest was inspired by our bag of the same name - MEDOW, which in turn was born from floral motifs in Yerevan’s architecture. We wanted to translate the volume of plant reliefs that decorate buildings into clothing - this is how the sculptural quilting came to life, connecting two layers of fabric (lightweight denim and fleece) with insulation in between.
Each quilted line is created by hand: we first mark the outlines with chalk, then stitch over them on a sewing machine, adding “petals” and “stems” where needed.
The vest is constructed to be worn on both sides, which required special precision and the use of clean, enclosed seams.
